11/18/2023 0 Comments Pro on mac standard on ios omnifocus![]() ![]() For many years, I didn’t need it, but I have recently started using it again to organize the tasks I need to do for my work. I bought OmniFocus when it was first released, and used it extensively at the time, because I was involved in managing some fairly complex writing projects. I’m a long-time user of the first two apps. (iOS pricing is $50 $75 for OmniFocus and $20 and $50 for OmniOutliner and $60 and $120 for OmniGraffle.) On the Mac, for OmniFocus, there is a Standard version ($50) and a Pro version ($100) for OmnOutliner, there is an Essentials version ($20) and a Pro version ($100) and for OmniGraffle, there is a Standard version ($150) and a Pro version ($250). At some point – I don’t recall exactly when – they made the decision to offer two versions of many of their apps. One company stands out for its odd structure of features and pricing: The OmniGroup. So I have a very good understanding of the different ways apps are marketed and sold. In addition, as a journalist and reviewer, I test many apps. – to third-party productivity apps, as well as apps across many categories. From Apple apps that are included with the operating systems I use – Mail, Messages, Pages, Numbers, etc. This guide is equally useful in later versions of OmniFocus for Mac.I use a wide range of apps in my work. The following graphic (click to enlarge) shows the keyboard shortcuts for OmniFocus 2 for Mac. OmniFocus for Mac Keyboard Shortcuts - To maximize your efficiency, it’s worth spending some time getting to know OmniFocus’ keyboard shortcuts. Frequent contributors include members of the Omni Group team, including CEO, Ken Case. Omni Group Slack Workspace - If you want more real-time discussions than the forums provide, consider requesting to Join the Omni Group Slack Workspace. Requests made through the forums don’t tend to get logged. If you have feature requests, it’s best to email them to the Omni Group by choosing Help > Contact Omni (Mac) or Settings > Contact Omni (iPhone, iPad). Omni Group Forums - The Omni Group hosts active user forums for troubleshooting issues and sharing suggestions, with a section dedicated to OmniFocus. Among other things, this can be a great place to get advice on OmniFocus setups and workflows. The OmniFocus Support page contains contact information, support articles and answers to frequently asked questions about OmniFocus. OmniFocus Support - The Omni Group has a well-deserved reputation for providing excellent support. Visit the Omni Group’s Manuals page to access the latest version of the manuals for all of Omni’s apps. OmniFocus Manuals - Omni provides excellent manuals for OmniFocus and its other apps. OmniFocus Videos - Omni has a large and growing collection of videos that cover features of Mac and iOS versions of OmniFocus, stories of OmniFocus in the Field and recordings of talks from past events. And the Tools & Services area shows how OmniFocus pairs well with other services and tools. ![]() The Working With OmniFocus section documents a wide range of OmniFocus workflows. Inside OmniFocus - This website showcases OmniFocus-related workflows and tools and is a natural complement to Learn OmniFocus. Similarly, the OmniFocus for iOS (that supports iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch) is available through the iOS App Store. OmniFocus Apps - Download OmniFocus for Mac from Omni’s website or the Mac App Store and put the Standard and Pro features through their paces. If you need help from the Omni Group’s outstanding “Support Ninjas,” select Contact Omni to drop them a line. This is also a convenient place to access OmniFocus News and Release Notes. Most notably, selecting OmniFocus Help will open the built-in manual. Help Menu - The Help menu in OmniFocus for Mac is a good place to start. Here are some of the resources that Omni provides to help you make productive use of OmniFocus.
